Jeonbuk Wildlife Rescue and Management Center (Center Director Professor Han Jae-ik) is organizing a "Wildlife Veterinarian Experience" program on October 24 (Sat) to raise awareness of the importance of wildlife protection and to allow participants to directly experience the work of wildlife veterinarians. The center is recruiting participants for the program.

The center, operated by the JBNU College of Veterinary Medicine, prepared the program with support from the Ministry of Climate, Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province, and the National University Promotion Project. The program is open to elementary school students, and a total of 15 participants will be admitted.

The program is designed to help participants understand the process from rescue to treatment and rehabilitation and eventual return to the wild, and to provide hands-on experience with the various tasks performed by wildlife veterinarians. Participants will gain experience with wildlife treatment procedures and related tasks in the center's pharmacy, treatment room, and radiology room.

A birdhouse-making activity will also be held to help participants understand wildlife habitats and increase interest in ecosystem protection. Participants will build birdhouses and learn about the importance of habitat and environmental conservation for wild birds.

Professor Han Jae-ik, Center Director, said, "I hope this experience will be a meaningful opportunity for participants to understand the rescue and treatment process for wildlife," adding, "We will continue to promote the importance of wildlife protection and ecosystem conservation through various experiential programs."

The application period is October 12–16. Students who wish to participate should download the application form from the Notices section of the Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) website(www.jbnu.ac.kr), complete it, and submit it by email (rjj3081@jbnu.ac.kr).
