Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Social Science (Dean Joo Sang-hyun) held the '2026 Second-Half Social Science Major Exploration Fair' on October 7, 2026, at the parking area around the College of Social Science main building to help students choose majors and plan careers that match their aptitudes and interests.

The fair was organized to help students gain a broader understanding of various majors and to reduce confusion during the major selection process following the broadening of admission units.

Seven academic units — the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy, Divsion of Public Science, Department of Media and Communication Studies, Department of Psychology, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Sociology, and Department of Public Administration — participated and operated consultation booths for each major.

At each booth, professors, teaching assistants, and departmental student councils introduced curricula, major characteristics, post-graduation career paths, and co-curricular activities. Students visited departments of interest to resolve questions and received practical advice on university life and career planning through consultations with seniors. Academic regulations and administrative information necessary for major selection were also provided.

Based on a satisfaction survey involving 103 students, the College of Social Science plans to continuously refine the major exploration program to reflect student demand.

Dean Joo Sang-hyun said, "I hope this fair serves as an opportunity for students to consider their aptitudes and career paths in detail and to understand the various majors within the social sciences," and added, "We will strengthen student-centered education and support so that students can take advantage of a wide range of major choices and proactively design their futures."
