Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Department of Housing Environment (Department Head Bae Chi-hye) has joined hands with the Housing Management Corporation Jeonbuk Branch (Branch Director Lee Sang-gyu) to enhance students' and youth's practical field skills and to strengthen community housing welfare.

On the 7th, the two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding and agreed to establish an Industry–University Collaboration system that links on-site experience in public rental housing management and housing welfare with the university's educational and research expertise.

Under the agreement, the Housing Management Corporation Jeonbuk Branch will provide opportunities for on-the-job experience, training, and mentoring at public rental housing sites in connection with the Jeonbuk Youth Job Internship Program.

The JBNU Department of Housing Environment plans to support students' and youth's field training and participation in surveys and research based on major coursework, thereby enhancing professional expertise and career competitiveness in the housing welfare field.

They will also pursue collaborative research to resolve local housing problems. The two institutions will investigate the living and residential environments of public rental housing, analyze risk factors, and develop improvement measures. They will cooperate in identifying and supporting housing-vulnerable households and in linking local welfare resources to improve living conditions for vulnerable households.

In addition, they will identify Industry–University Collaboration projects in the fields of housing welfare and housing environment, promote collaborative research and policy development, and strengthen the community housing welfare infrastructure.

Department Head Bae Chi-hye said, "This will provide an opportunity for students to apply their major knowledge to real housing welfare sites and develop professional expertise," adding, "We will expand practical education and research cooperation that addresses local housing problems together."
