Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Startup Support Group (Director Guk Gyeong-su) held the "2026 Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Industry–University–Research Integrated IR Elevation Camp," which connects local startups with investors, and secured letters of intent and investment commitment letters totaling approximately KRW 1 billion.
As part of the Startup Support University project, the event was held at the JBNU International Convention Center from September 30 to October 1. Thirty-one companies participated, presenting their business capabilities and growth potential and discussing investment attraction and follow-up collaboration with investors.
The event was supported by JBNU's Startup Support Group, Jeonbuk Technopark, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Economic and Trade Promotion Agency, Jeonbuk Bio-Convergence Industry Promotion Agency, Eco-Convergence Textile Research Institute, and the Agricultural, Forestry and Food Technology Planning and Evaluation Institute, among others, to jointly support investment attraction for local startups.
Participating companies delivered IR presentations to investors and received on-site feedback. Through strategy training focused on investment attraction cases, one-on-one investment matching consultations, and networking programs, they enhanced their ability to respond to investment and broadened their collaboration networks.
In particular, the IR material revision support provided before the event helped companies present their business strengths and growth strategies more concretely. Based on this, the demo day resulted in 11 investment-related outcomes — nine letters of intent and two investment commitment letters — totaling approximately KRW 1 billion.
Guk Gyeong-su, Director of JBNU's Startup Support Group, said, "It was a meaningful occasion in which local companies were able to show their potential directly to investors and achieve tangible results. Going forward, we will continue to work closely with relevant local institutions to create an environment in which startups can grow and secure investment within the region."
