Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) will open the ‘2026 Univ. Start-up Festa (Univ. Start-up Festa)’ on the 15th to promote youth entrepreneurship and to foster the regional startup ecosystem. The event will be held across the JBNU Student Town area.
The festival, organized by the JBNU Startup Support Center (Director Guk Gyeong-su), will bring together entrepreneurship-related organizations, universities, startup companies, young entrepreneurs and citizens. During the event, counseling and promotional booths run by 13 startup support organizations, product sales booths featuring 22 startup companies, and three experience booths for citizens and young people will be set up to offer visitors a diverse experience combining entrepreneurship and culture.
There will be information and consultations on startup support programs, recruitment for the second round of the "Everyone's Startup" project, the Jeonbuk Youth Biz-Cool Startup Competition, exhibitions and sales of startup products, and a flea market, among other activities.
In particular, inspired by the youth startup festival theme, the event will also actively promote startup support linkages for international students as part of the Glocal University 30 project.
The event is expected to provide practical startup support information to young entrepreneurs and prospective founders, and to contribute to expanding the regional startup ecosystem by discovering outstanding ideas and exploring commercialization opportunities. JBNU aims to offer a new field of opportunity in entrepreneurship to young people who face difficulties finding employment through this event.
Guk Gyeong-su, Director of the JBNU Startup Support Center, said, "The Univ. Start-up Festa is not just a startup event but a forum that promotes cooperation among universities, entrepreneurship-related organizations and young entrepreneurs," adding, "We will actively support young people so that they can plan their futures through entrepreneurship."
