The Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Family Center Project Group (Director Professor Yun Myung-sook), which operates the Jeonju City Family Center (Center Director Lee Hae-gyeong), ran the 'Tracking' Phase 2 'Family Outing' with sponsorship from JB Financial Group (Jeonbuk Bank) from September 5–6 (Sat–Sun) on Nando Island and around the Yeosu World Islands Expo site, providing participating families with meaningful interaction and opportunities for healing.

 This program, planned in collaboration with the Korea Islands Promotion Agency, targeted parents and children from multicultural families. It was designed to enable families to experience the nature and culture of island areas together, strengthen family bonds, and foster a sense of belonging and emotional stability through interaction with the local community.

 Participating families sampled local foods through an 'Island Healing Meal' composed of Nando's specialties, then walked together along Nando's representative trekking course, 'Bireong-gil.' They also took part in the 'Island Sse-dam Walking' plogging environmental cleanup activity—picking up litter on the beach while walking—to put the value of environmental protection into practice. Afterwards, they toured the Yeosu World Islands Expo site and experienced diverse island cultures.

 In particular, the outing received a strong response because it went beyond simple tourism by balancing nature trekking, environmental cleanup activities, and local specialty food experiences, enabling participating families not only to achieve physical and mental healing but also to feel a sense of responsibility as members of the local community.

Lee Hae-gyeong, Center Director of the Jeonju City Family Center, said, 'Parents and children from multicultural families were able to experience trekking, environmental cleanup activities, and cultural experiences together in the unique setting of the island,' adding, 'We will continue to cooperate with the local community to make Jeonju a city where diverse families can be happy.'

The Jeonju City Family Center plans to continue expanding tailored education, experiential, and exchange programs for multicultural families, foreign residents, and children and youth based on cooperation with the local community, and will strive to create an inclusive local community where everyone grows together.
