Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has established an Industry–University Collaboration framework with NH-Amundi Asset Management (CEO Gil Jeong-seop) to develop local talent and strengthen competitiveness in the AI industry. NH-Amundi Asset Management also donated KRW 100 million to JBNU as a development fund to support the cultivation of future talent.
JBNU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NH-Amundi Asset Management on cooperation for a project to develop local talent linked to growth engines at the "NH Financial Hub Launch Ceremony for Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province" held at NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonbuk Headquarters on the 1st.
The ceremony was attended by Yang O-bong, President of JBNU, and Gil Jeong-seop, CEO of NH-Amundi Asset Management, as well as key officials including NH Financial Group Chairman Lee Chan-woo, Governor of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Lee Won-taek, National Pension Service Chairman Kim Seong-ju, and Mayor of Jeonju Cho Ji-hoon.
Through the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate to develop local talent linked to Jeonbuk's strategic industries, including advanced robotic foundry, green hydrogen systems, agricultural life and bio sectors, AI, mobility, and renewable energy.
They agreed to jointly pursue initiatives such as reforming the education system to reflect industry demand in the AI sector, operating programs to strengthen practical competencies, expanding internships and field training to cultivate specialists in new AI and AX technologies, increasing opportunities for industry–university collaboration projects, and organizing recruitment briefings and preferential hiring policies to attract outstanding talent. They also plan to operate a joint collaboration platform to share technology trends and build an industry–university collaboration network.
On the day, NH-Amundi Asset Management presented a KRW 100 million development fund to JBNU as the NH-Amundi Pilseung Korea Scholarship. JBNU expects the donation will be used meaningfully to secure stable academic conditions for students and to nurture talent in future growth sectors.
Yang O-bong, President of JBNU, said, "This agreement and the donation of the development fund will greatly support the cultivation of practice-oriented talent who will lead the region's future growth industries. JBNU will work closely with NH-Amundi Asset Management to achieve educational innovation and industry–university collaboration outcomes in strategic industry sectors, including AI and AX, that the region and industry can tangibly feel."
