An opportunity will be provided for the public to enter the museum storage, which is normally inaccessible, and see and experience cultural heritage management firsthand.

JBNU University Museum announced on the 31st that it will operate a museum storage opening program from September through December to promote university resource sharing and expand opportunities for the local community to enjoy culture.

The program was prepared to open the storage, which is normally difficult for the public to access, to enhance the public value of regional cultural assets and to share field-centered career-experience opportunities with the local community by utilizing the university's educational and cultural resources as well as professional staff and facilities.

The program consists of storage tours and curator career-experience sessions linked to the storage tours. During the storage tour, the operation of the storage and the collection preservation and management systems are introduced, and participants can directly observe actual artifact organization sites and the regional cultural heritage held by the museum.

In particular, visitors can directly view the wooden printing blocks used to print books at the Jeolla Provincial Government Office (Jeolla Gamyeong) and historical documents from the Joseon Dynasty.

In the curator career-experience sessions, participants learn about the museum's functions and the role of curators, and have time to explore related career paths through brief practical exercises that cover museum workflows from cultural heritage restoration to packaging.

The program runs from September through December on the second and fourth Tuesdays and Thursdays of each month, and accepts advance applications for up to 15 participants per session.
