Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Veterinary Medicine operates the Jeonbuk Wildlife Rescue and Management Center (Director Han Jae-ik, Professor), which held a special lecture on natural monuments and wildlife for local residents and students.

Supported by the Ministry of Climate, Jeollabuk-do Special Self-Governing Province, and the National University Development Project, the lecture on August 30 featured Dr. Yu Chil-seon, an expert in ecology, the environment and wildlife, as the speaker.

The lecture began with an overview of the wildlife inhabiting the Mangyeong River in the region. It focused on improving understanding of natural ecology and natural monuments, and it reaffirmed conservation awareness among local residents.

Han Jae-ik, Director of the Jeonbuk Wildlife Rescue and Management Center and a professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, said, "This lecture was organized to provide local residents with an opportunity to gain a renewed understanding of and commitment to protecting the natural environment." He added, "We will continue education and outreach activities on wildlife protection and ecological conservation."

Meanwhile, since its opening in 2009, the Jeonbuk Wildlife Rescue and Management Center has provided treatment and rehabilitation for injured or rescued wildlife and supported their return to the wild. Through education and outreach activities, it has served as a focal point for ecological conservation in cooperation with the local community.
