Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Divsion of Public Science (Dean Prof. Jeong Tae-jong) jointly operated a "Law Firm Experience Program" for enrolled students with the Jeonbuk Provincial Bar Association (President Kim Hak-su) on August 27.

Started in 2019, this year marked the eighth iteration of the program. Sixteen students participated, organized into five teams. After observing an actual trial at the Jeonju District Court, students took part in topic-specific discussions and Q&A sessions with lawyers.

Through this, students examined how legal knowledge learned in the classroom is applied in trials and legal practice. They also received practical advice on Law School admission and the roles and career paths of lawyers. Students who complete all program activities receive a certificate jointly signed by the Dean of the Divsion of Public Science at JBNU and the President of the Jeonbuk Provincial Bar Association.

Student Jo Dong-hee, who participated in the program, said, "It was beneficial to directly experience the legal profession's actual work environment and the expertise of lawyers," adding, "It helped broaden my understanding of the legal field and was of great help in concretely planning my future career."

The Divsion of Public Science operates a practice-oriented curriculum to support advancement into the legal and professional qualification fields. It also offers non-credit programs that cover admissions preparation and field experience, including LEET and PSAT preparation courses, court internships, the National Assembly Legislative Academy, and guest lectures and mentoring by alumni who have entered professional careers.

These educational efforts have led to concrete results such as Law School admission and bar exam success. In the 15th Bar Examination, announced in April 2026, six graduates passed. In Law School admissions for the 2026 academic year, eleven graduates were admitted. In 2025, five graduates passed the bar examination and two became judicial research fellows at the Seoul High Court.

In addition, the Division has expanded its graduates' opportunities in professional and public sectors by producing successful candidates in professional qualification exams such as certified real estate appraiser, certified public accountant (CPA), and certified labor consultant, as well as in the open competitive recruitment exam for police lieutenants.

The Divsion of Public Science will continue to systematically operate legal education and professional qualification preparation programs, legal field experiences, and alumni mentoring to support students' entry into legal and professional careers.
