Ahead of the government’s 'Local Talent Development Plan Linked to Growth Engines,' commonly called the 'Make 10 Seoul National Universities' announcement, an event has been organized to consolidate local commitment to Jeonbuk’s future growth engines and regional innovation.

JBNU, together with the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, will hold the 'Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Physical AI Great Leap Resolution Meeting' at the Jinsudang 77th Anniversary Hall at JBNU on the 26th at 3:00 PM. The event is a joint resolution for '5-Regions/3-Specialties Local-Led Growth and the Leap of Jeonbuk's Future Industries.'

The meeting was organized, in particular ahead of the government's announcement of the Local Talent Development Plan Linked to Growth Engines, to announce that Jeonbuk is prepared to combine strategic industry and education and research capabilities centered on the regional flagship national university and to unite local aspirations.

Some 400 people are expected to attend, including local members of the National Assembly, the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province government, 14 cities and counties in the province, major companies, research institutes, university constituents, and residents of Jeonbuk. The gathering will be an occasion for Jeonbuk's political circles, local governments, industry, academia, and research sectors to reaffirm their commitment to cooperate under the shared goals of fostering future industries, developing local talent, and achieving national balanced development.

President Yang O-bong will deliver a presentation titled 'Jeonbuk Great Leap Talent Development Strategy.' Drawing on JBNU’s achievements in educational innovation, Industry–University Collaboration, and regional co-prosperity accumulated through the Glocal University 30 Project, he will present directions to lead Jeonbuk’s future industries, including Physical AI, robotics, and hydrogen energy, as well as talent development strategies through close cooperation with Hyundai Motor Company.

In addition, DH 오토리드 and JBNU’s Kim Sun-tae, Director of Physical AI, will present JBNU’s achievements in fostering Physical AI, which JBNU has carried out as the lead institution for the national manufacturing Physical AI project and as a central force in talent development and educational and research innovation for future industries.

At the resolution meeting, a joint declaration to cultivate manufacturing Physical AI, robotics, and hydrogen energy as Jeonbuk's future growth axes will be announced. All attendees will pledge to join forces to ensure the successful implementation of the national manufacturing Physical AI project, to support Hyundai Motor Group's investment in Saemangeum, to foster the robotics and hydrogen energy industries, and to strengthen JBNU’s innovation capacity. A Great Leap proclamation ceremony will be held.

President Yang O-bong said, 'This resolution meeting is a communal starting point to realize the regionally centered, flagship-university-led innovation envisioned by the 'Make 10 Seoul National Universities' initiative in a way that suits Jeonbuk’s conditions and strategic industries,' adding, 'We will establish a Jeonbuk-style regional innovation model in which universities, the region, and industry grow together, and leap forward as a new growth axis for national balanced development.'
