Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) AI College, together with NH NongHyup Bank Jeonbuk Headquarters, is launching a full-scale initiative to cultivate local talent in the AI field and to establish an industry–university collaboration ecosystem.

JBNU announced on the 5th that the AI College and NH NongHyup Bank Jeonbuk Headquarters signed a memorandum of understanding to successfully implement the "Growth Engine–Linked Local Talent Development Project" and to train industry-ready professionals in the AI field.

This agreement was made to strengthen the global competitiveness of the AI industry by building an education and research innovation model as an AI hub university using the two institutions' expertise and infrastructure, and by operating a demand-driven industry–university collaboration platform.

Accordingly, the two institutions agreed to cooperate in innovating the education system to reflect AI industry field requirements and in operating training programs to strengthen practical skills.

They also agreed to provide educational opportunities for provincial residents to enhance competitiveness by offering AI application training and by actively utilizing NH NongHyup facilities in municipalities and counties, thereby providing educational spaces for local talent development.

In particular, they will jointly operate a collaboration platform that provides internships, field training, and industry–university collaboration project opportunities to train professionals who meet the demand for new AI and AX technologies; organize recruitment briefings and establish preferential hiring policies to attract top talent; and share technology trends and build an industry–university collaboration network.

JBNU expects that this agreement will broaden the base of AI education through cooperation with regional financial institutions and provide students with practical career opportunities that lead to hands-on experience and employment.

President Yang O-bong said, “AI technology has established itself as a core growth engine driving innovation across industries. Through this agreement, we will build an AI education innovation and practical talent development system together with regional financial institutions and create a sustainable industry–university collaboration model that contributes to the development of regional and national AI industries.”
