The Jeonbuk Provincial Environmental Health Center, designated by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and entrusted to and operated by Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (Center Director Kim Yong-hyun), held the '2nd Environmental Health Story Festival' on the 3rd at the National Museum of Jeonju for 40 children from two local children's centers in the Hyoja-dong area.

The event was organized as part of the 'Environmental Health Culture Dissemination' project to help children easily understand how the environment affects health and to raise their environmental sensitivity.

The participating children watched the environmental animation 'The Lorax' and learned about nature conservation and the importance of a sustainable future. They then took part in a hands-on activity making detergent bars from eco-friendly materials to learn carbon-neutral practices in everyday life that can reduce the use of chemical detergents and plastics.

They also toured the history exhibition at the National Museum of Jeonju and examined the lifestyle culture of past generations and eco-friendly living practices that utilize nature. This provided an opportunity to naturally understand the close connection between the environment and human life.

The Center focused on conveying the importance of environmental health in an easy and engaging way through a participatory program that linked film viewing, hands-on activities, and museum exhibition tours, and on increasing children's interest in recycling and eco-friendly lifestyle practices.

Kim Yong-hyun, Center Director of the Jeonbuk Provincial Environmental Health Center, said, 'Environmental health begins with small everyday practices. We will continue to carry out various environmental health education and culture dissemination projects so that future generations can naturally understand and practice the values of environment and health.'

Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk Provincial Environmental Health Center continues to implement environmental health culture dissemination projects in the field of risk communication and provides residents with accurate information about the link between the environment and health. The Center plans to expand and operate various education and hands-on programs that can enhance environmental sensitivity.
