The Division of Electronic Engineering robotics club '전BOT대' (faculty advisor Jo Hyeong-gi) won the Encouragement Prize at the 2026 ICROS Quadruped Robot Competition.
The ICROS Quadruped Robot Competition comprehensively evaluates quadruped robots' locomotion control, autonomous navigation, obstacle negotiation, and task execution capabilities. It is a practical contest in which students implement and validate core robotics technologies on real robot platforms.
In this competition, '전BOT대' achieved outstanding results despite being first-time entrants, demonstrating stable locomotion control, implementation of locomotion algorithms, and the ability to respond to on-site conditions.
The achievement is particularly meaningful because the club students led the system design and carried out iterative testing and improvements, demonstrating interdisciplinary capabilities across electronic engineering, control engineering, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
'전BOT대' is a robotics club composed of students from Jeonbuk National University (JBNU)'s Division of Electronic Engineering. The club continues activities to learn various robotics technologies, including robot system design, sensor-based perception, and control algorithm development, and to apply them to real platforms.
The Division of Electronic Engineering plans to continue actively supporting a range of educational and research activities so that students can grow into professionals with creative problem-solving skills and practical competencies in advanced robotics and artificial intelligence.
