JBNU University Museum (Director Park Yong-jin) will operate a visiting experiential education program to increase cultural accessibility for students in rural communities and to share cultural assets with the local community.

As part of the National University Development Project, the 'Museum, Into the Community' program provides substantive humanities education opportunities to students in culturally marginalized areas and seeks to nurture future local talent.

The program will be conducted sequentially, beginning at Gosu Elementary School in Gochang on July 15, at Jeokseong Elementary School in Sunchang on July 20, and at Paldeok Elementary School in Sunchang on August 25. Aiming to 'Expand Humanities Education and Strengthen Local Cultural Capacity,' it will operate by directly extending the museum's educational content into school settings.

'Museum, Into the Community' is an experiential education program based on the museum's representative collections. Through various activities—historical document storytelling, traditional printing culture experiences, artifact puzzle matching, pottery explanations, and matching roof-end tiles—students can directly experience and understand cultural heritage.

Started in 2019, the program marks its eighth year this year and has consistently received positive responses from students in rural areas who have relatively fewer opportunities to enjoy culture. In particular, since last year the number of sessions has been expanded from twice a year to three times a year to provide educational opportunities to more students.

The JBNU Museum expects that by combining its representative collections with humanities education content, the program will enhance students' understanding of cultural heritage and contribute to fostering interest in local culture and cultural sensitivity.

Director Park Yong-jin said, 'As a regional national university museum, it is an important duty to provide children in culturally marginalized areas with diverse humanities experiences,' adding, 'We will continue to increase cultural accessibility through educational programs in partnership with the local community and contribute to cultivating future talent with an understanding of local culture and humanities literacy.'
