Dong-chin, a doctoral student in the Department of Design & Manufacturing Engineering at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (supervised by Professor Kim Yong-gu), demonstrated research capability by winning the Best Presentation Paper Award at an international academic conference.

Dong-chin announced on the 26th that he presented a research paper titled "A Study on the Design Dimensions of Experiencing Locality in Korean Traditional Villages Based on Exploratory Factor Analysis" at the 2026 Spring International Conference of the Korean Society of Basic Formative Art and received the Best Presentation Paper Award.

The study was recognized for its academic contribution by deriving the constituent characteristics of locality experiences in traditional villages from a design perspective and proposing theoretical criteria for evaluating experiential design aimed at preservation and revitalization.

Dong-chin said, "I am very honored to receive this award from the Korean Society of Basic Formative Art. I thank Professor Kim Yong-gu for his careful guidance throughout the research, and I will continue to deepen related research to achieve meaningful results in the future."
