Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Master's student Subin Kim of the Department of Healthcare Engineering (Advisor: Professor Kwon Dae-gyu) presented research validating the clinical validity of a quantitative sensory testing device (QPST) and received an Excellence Award at the 2026 Korean Society of Rehabilitation and Welfare Engineering Spring Conference.

The Korean Society of Rehabilitation and Welfare Engineering is a leading domestic academic society representing the fields of rehabilitation medicine and welfare engineering. It has led related research and industrial development. This conference was organized as an academic forum to share the latest technological trends and explore directions for future development.

Master's student Subin Kim presented research titled 'Derivation of Standard Thresholds and Reliability Validation of Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST) in Adults in Their 20s,' which received an excellent evaluation. The study was conducted as part of the Ministry of Science and ICT's Bio·Medical Technology Development (R&D) program, the 'Future Medical Research Center Fostering Project,' and was carried out in collaboration with Professors Myung-hwan Ko and Ki-uk Kim of the JBNU School of Medicine.

The research focused on verifying the clinical validity of the newly developed quantitative sensory testing device (QPST). Temperature sensation thresholds were measured in healthy adults in their 20s, and statistical concordance with global standard equipment was demonstrated through comparison.

Furthermore, by securing data reliability that complies with the international DFNS guidelines, the study was evaluated as having increased the potential for future clinical application.
