At JBNU, the steady support from the local community for students cultivating their future dreams has become a warm force illuminating those futures. Representatives of the monthly 'Houses of Support' visited campus to present scholarships to students, creating a meaningful occasion for sharing their goodwill.

On the 16th, a 'Houses of Support' scholarship presentation ceremony was held at the JBNU Student Town. Representatives of 86 'Houses of Support' that donate a fixed amount to JBNU each month, including Representative Jo Mi-ok of Jeonju Aseowon1920, attended in person and presented scholarships of KRW 1,000,000, filled with warm encouragement, to 30 students, including Lee Ju-hyeong (College of Business and Economics, Faculty of Economics).

The 'Houses of Support' system is a flagship local cooperation model of JBNU in which local businesses donate a fixed amount each month to the university development fund and university members reciprocate by using those businesses. Launched in 2003, the program has raised approximately KRW 1.46 billion to date. From interest income alone, it has awarded scholarships totaling about KRW 275 million to approximately 340 students.

This year's scholarship presentation was particularly meaningful as donors handed scholarship certificates directly to each student. The students experienced the community's warm attention and expectations up close, receiving not only financial support but also encouragement and heartfelt warmth.

President Yang O-bong emphasized, "The outpouring of support amid difficult economic conditions instills great courage and pride in our students," and added, "The Houses of Support scholarships represent the educational value created by the local community and are a proud tradition of our university."

Representative Jo Mi-ok, who presented the scholarships that day, offered a sincere message to the students based on her own experience. She said, "Everyone faces difficult periods in life, but what lifted me up were someone's warm words and belief in myself. The scholarship you have received is an expression of belief in your potential and support, so I hope you will believe in yourself and move forward through any hardship."

She added, "While success is important, above all, be someone who warms the world. I hope your warmth becomes hope for someone else."

On behalf of the scholarship recipients, student Hong Min-seo (Division of Chemical Engineering) said, "I will deeply cherish the community's support and expectations embodied in this scholarship, dedicate myself further to my studies and research, and grow into a person who contributes to society. I will become someone who returns the help I received to the community."
