    Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Expands AI Education Sharing Forum… Holds University–Primary and Secondary Linked AI Education Conference

    Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), which is innovating all areas of education, research, administration, and employment based on artificial intelligence (AI) and data, held the 'University–Primary and Secondary Linked AI Education Sharing Conference' on the 10th at the Jinsudang 77th Anniversary Hall on campus.

     

    This conference was organized in connection with the JBNU AI Systems Sharing Conference. It was held to allow universities and primary and secondary education sites to share their AI education experiences and best practices, and to explore ways to build an AI education ecosystem through cooperation across school levels. Teachers from elementary, middle, and high schools in the Jeonbuk region, education officials, and university faculty and staff attended the event.

     

    At the event, JBNU introduced plans to build a next-generation educational environment centered on an AI-based Learning Management System (LMS 3.0) that integrates an "AI tutor" with a content platform. The AI tutor uses lecture materials and learning data together with RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) technology to respond to learners' questions in real time, generate questions automatically, perform assessments, and provide personalized feedback. It is also linked with AI-based automatic caption generation and multilingual translation functions and real-time translation services, which are expected to significantly enhance the global learning environment, including for international students.

     

    In the career and employment area, JBNU announced plans to introduce the "AI JOB @ JBNU" platform. The platform comprehensively analyzes academic records, extracurricular activities, and job preparation levels and presents the results visually. It supports realistic career exploration by analyzing the likelihood of employment at desired companies and recommending similar roles and companies. Based on employment success case data, it provides spec comparison analysis and diagnoses missing elements to present concrete, individualized preparation directions and tailored roadmaps.

     

    A session was also held to discuss AI education implementation cases and challenges in primary and secondary education. Presentations and discussions covered the topics "On-Site Diagnosis and Challenges of Elementary School AI Education," "The Importance of Artificial Intelligence and Data," and "How We Designed and Operated the High School AI Curriculum."

     

    Participants shared concerns and challenges of AI education at the elementary level, examples of data-driven problem-solving classes in middle schools, and practical experiences in designing and operating high school AI curricula, seeking ways to expand AI education by school level.

     

    One attending teacher commented, "It was useful to hear together about the university's AI education trends, the concerns at the elementary level, and high school operational cases," adding, "It was a time to reflect on how to approach student AI education in classroom settings going forward."

     

    President Yang O-bong said, "This conference is a place for universities and primary and secondary education sites to share AI education experiences and best practices and to explore the direction of future education together. Through cooperation across school levels, we will continue educational innovation to strengthen AI education capabilities and ensure that students acquire the digital and AI competencies needed for future society."
