Jeonbuk National University (JBNU)-operated Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI (Director Guk Gyeong-su) has been selected as an operating institution for the 'Startup HR and Labor Management Linked Training' jointly promoted by the Korea Business Incubation Association and the Korea Employment and Labor Training Institute.

This project is a nationwide education support program aimed at strengthening the practical HR and labor-management capabilities of startup business owners and managers. A call for applications was held for startup incubation centers nationwide, and five institutions were selected for the basic course and five for the advanced course. Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI was chosen as an operating institution for the basic course.

Accordingly, Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI will provide practice-oriented training in HR, labor, and industrial safety for employees of startup companies and staff of startup support organizations. The Korea Employment and Labor Training Institute will provide expert instructors and content. The curriculum covers essential topics for operating startups such as: Labor Law Every Employer Must Know; Practical HR and Labor Management; Working Hours and Wage Management; Prevention of Industrial Accidents; and Understanding the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.

Early-stage startups often face various labor issues such as hiring, concluding employment contracts, designing wage systems, and managing industrial safety, which creates high demand for systematic training. This training will be conducted around real-world cases from the field and is expected to contribute to preventing labor-related risks and strengthening capabilities for sustainable organizational management in startups.

Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI, the only POST-BI in Jeonbuk operated through an agreement with the Jeonbuk Regional Office of Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, supports the stable market settlement and scale-up of companies that have entered the growth stage after graduating from incubation centers.

Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI plans to recruit trainees from resident companies, graduate companies, and local startups starting in July and to commence full-scale training. In addition, leveraging this project, it intends to expand tailored training programs by company growth stage and to continue providing support to strengthen human resource management and organizational competitiveness for startup companies.

Guk Gyeong-su, Director of Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI, said, 'HR and labor management are key factors that determine corporate competitiveness during a startup's growth process. I hope this training will provide practical assistance to companies in correctly understanding labor-related laws and in establishing safe working environments.' He added, 'We will continue to expand practical training and specialized support programs needed by startups.'
