JBNU has partnered with the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation (President Nam Hwa-young) to advance an industry–university–research collaboration system linked to regional industries. The move aims to establish a practical regional innovation model based on cooperation with public institutions in response to the government’s flagship national university development policy.
On the 5th at 2:00 p.m., JBNU signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation in the President’s Office at University Headquarters. They agreed to establish a cooperation framework focused on education and research linked to regional growth engines, AI-based convergence education innovation, and the creation of an employment and entrepreneurship ecosystem connected to regional industries.
The signing ceremony was attended by President Yang O-bong, President Nam Hwa-young of the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, and key officials from both organizations, who discussed future cooperation directions and implementation plans.
The agreement focuses on creating a substantive cooperation foundation that connects the flagship national university development policy with regional industrial demand. The two organizations plan to jointly address the advancement of the industry–university–research collaboration ecosystem and secure competitiveness in future core technologies by combining the university’s educational and research capabilities with the public institution’s industry field experience.
Under the agreement, the two organizations plan to pursue various collaborative projects, including ▲joint research and the establishment of a cooperation platform in regional growth engine fields; ▲industry-demand-based customized talent development; ▲joint R&D on AI-based future core technologies; ▲shared use of testing and analysis equipment and research facilities; ▲operation of employment and start-up programs linked to regional industries; and ▲Technology Transfer and commercialization linkage.
Through this agreement, JBNU aims to further strengthen the collaboration foundation between the university and public institutions and to advance an industry–university–research collaboration system in which education, research, and industry are organically connected, contributing to enhanced regional industrial competitiveness and balanced national development.
President Yang O-bong said, “This agreement is a meaningful starting point that concretizes the flagship national university development policy through cooperation with public institutions,” and added, “Together with the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, the core institution in the first relocation to our region’s innovation city, we will establish a new model of industry–university–research collaboration to contribute to regional and national development.”
