JBNU College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (Dean Choi Nak-jin) invited Dr. Stanley Best S., Director of the Digital Agriculture Program at the Chilean Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), to host an international cooperation meeting and announced on the 29th that they discussed ways to expand global cooperation in the fields of smart agriculture and digital agriculture.

The meeting was organized to establish a foundation for education and research cooperation between the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Chilean INIA, and to formally initiate joint research and personnel exchanges. Representatives from both institutions, officials from the Rural Development Administration, and professional interpreters attended and conducted in-depth discussions on the direction of international agricultural research cooperation.

In particular, the two institutions acknowledged the importance of key future agri-life technologies such as Precision Agriculture, Digital Agriculture, and climate change–adaptive smart agriculture. They discussed concrete cooperation measures, including joint seminars, research collaboration, and student and researcher exchange programs.

The Chilean INIA is the national institution responsible for agricultural research and plays a leading role in smart agriculture and digital agriculture technologies. The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences plans to use this meeting to expand its global agri-life research network and further strengthen its capacity for international collaborative research.

Dean Choi Nak-jin said, "With climate change and the digital transformation of agriculture accelerating, international joint research and global cooperation are essential," adding, "Through cooperation with INIA, we will establish a foundation for generating tangible research outcomes and nurturing talent in the fields of smart agriculture and agricultural AI."

Meanwhile, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences continues to expand cooperation with domestic and international universities and research institutions centered on future agri-life areas such as agricultural AX (AI Transformation), Physical AI, and smart agriculture, strengthening its position as a global hub for agricultural and life sciences research.
