The Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Industry‑University Cooperation Regional Child Center Jeonbuk Support Group, operating under commission from Jeollabuk‑do Special Self‑Governing Province, is launching the 'Care–Safety Net Establishment Project' to ensure the safety and protection of children suspected of being abused at home.

This initiative, the '함께지킴365' project supported by the Jeonbuk Community Chest of Korea, aims to establish a tailored integrated care system centered on community child centers to ensure that children suspected of abuse are safely protected within the local community and can grow healthily.

Currently five community child centers in the province are participating: Jeonju Girin and Chorokbyeol, Iksan Sinhwangdeung, Wanju Iseo, and Jangsu 1318 Happy Zone Didimdol. Each center is running group training programs of more than ten sessions focused on strengthening children’s safety awareness and self‑protection capabilities. Through these programs, the emphasis is on helping children develop practical abilities to recognize and respond to dangerous situations independently.

To enhance the project’s professionalism and sustainability, Regional Expert Training for community child center staff and local residents will be conducted concurrently. In addition, Integrated Child Case Management Training will be provided regularly in a supervision format to enable systematic interventions for individual child cases.

Alongside these efforts, 'Our Village Care' stakeholder meetings will strengthen cooperation among child‑related organizations in the area, and the Community Village Guardians Advisory Council will continuously discuss measures to support child protection.

Choi Hyun‑young, Head of the Jeonbuk Support Group, said, “The goal is to establish a protective system in which children, families, and community child centers are organically connected, embedding a sustainable care structure that links case detection, intervention, and recovery.”

Kim Seo‑hyun, Chair of the Operations Committee and a professor in the Department of Social Welfare at JBNU, said, “This project will serve as an opportunity to spread awareness of the importance of caring for children in crisis throughout the local community.”

Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk Support Group provides education, consulting, and evaluation to 287 community child centers across the province, and seeks to improve the quality of services for children through various specialized programs such as the Community Chest of Korea’s 'Support Project for Children Growing as Themselves'.
