The Divsion of Public Science at JBNU has embarked on cultivating public-sector talent through a special lecture that combined real estate policy and the role of the media. The Divsion of Public Science said it held the '6th Public Science Special Lecture' on the 20th at 2:00 PM at the Global Talent Center, Keunsaram Hall, inviting former Jeonju MBC President Song Ki-won.

Organized as part of the College Education Innovation project under the National University Promotion Project, this lecture, themed 'Real Estate and Journalism', was conducted in conjunction with the 'Real Estate Public Law' course taught by Professor Heo Gang-mu.

The program was planned to understand how the theoretical framework of Real Estate Public Law, which requires complex regulation and legal interpretation, is conveyed to and consumed by the public through media reporting, and to grasp the current state of the real estate market from a journalism perspective.

In the lecture, former president Song Ki-won explained, based on his long experience in journalism, reporting patterns following changes in real estate policy and the influence of the media on the market. He particularly emphasized the importance of critical media literacy required of public-sector talent, drawing strong resonance from attendees.

Shin Seung-hoon, a third-year student in the Divsion of Public Science who attended the special lecture, said, 'It was a meaningful time to understand how Real Estate Public Law, which I had encountered mainly through statutory texts, is connected to our lives through actual media coverage.'

Professor Heo Gang-mu said, 'By adding the societal perspective of journalism to the academic foundation of Real Estate Public Law, I hope this provided an opportunity for students to view real estate issues more multidimensionally,' and added, 'We will continue to operate a variety of special lecture programs to cultivate interdisciplinary public-sector talent equipped with practical experience and expertise.'

Meanwhile, about 80 members of the university community, including students from the Divsion of Public Science and others interested in real estate and journalism, attended, demonstrating strong interest.
