JBNU College of Engineering (Dean Kim Man‑young) has begun formal discussions with the University of Warwick to expand its global engineering education and research network.
JBNU College of Engineering announced on the 18th that it is pursuing the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group) at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom to establish educational and academic exchange cooperation.
This collaboration was initiated after the JBNU Contracted Enrollment Project Group (Director Professor Bae Jun‑su) and participating students visited WMG at the University of Warwick this past January to strengthen their global engineering capabilities.
Afterwards, the two institutions reached a consensus on expanding exchanges, and on the 12th invited Professor Robin Clark of WMG, University of Warwick, to JBNU to discuss the LOI and concrete directions for future cooperation.
The LOI will serve as a starting point for the two institutions to jointly explore opportunities for educational and academic exchanges and to establish a substantive cooperative relationship. Both sides plan to proceed with follow‑up procedures with the aim of signing an agreement promptly.
Through these discussions, the two institutions agreed to pursue cooperation in various areas, including ▲ mutual exchanges of faculty and researchers ▲ student exchanges (exchange students, dual‑degree and joint‑degree programs) ▲ joint research and publication of papers ▲ joint hosting of conferences, seminars, and workshops.
WMG at the University of Warwick is an institution with world‑class research capabilities in smart manufacturing, advanced engineering, and digital transformation. It leads future industries based on collaborations with the UK government and global companies.
JBNU College of Engineering plans to use these collaboration discussions as an opportunity to strengthen international collaborative research and talent development systems linked to WMG's global research and education network.
