JBNU's multi LLM based generative AI service is rapidly spreading across the campus. The service within one month of launch, users 6,600 surpassed, showing high usage across the university community.

JBNU operated a pilot program from February to March to enhance the university community's artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and AI service accessibility, and has provided the full service since April 1. The pilot found that 98% of users wished the service to continue, indicating high satisfaction. The university said it launched the full program reflecting the pilot results.

The number of users is increasing sharply. Within one month of the service launch, total users exceeded 6,645, of whom 5,486 were students, accounting for about 82%. The service is being used broadly across the university community, including 545 professors and 614 staff and teaching assistants.

Usage analysis showed overwhelmingly student-centered use. Students accounted for more than 85% of total usage, and generative AI has been actively used for various learning activities such as study and assignment completion, information gathering, and other tasks.

The generative AI service provided by JBNU is based on a single-platform, multi-LLM architecture that allows users to select from various models (LLMs). This enables users to choose the optimal AI model for their purposes and to utilize features such as text and image generation, advanced search, code writing and analysis, multilingual translation, data processing, and report generation.

In particular, students are using AI across their studies—report writing, project design, information gathering, and career and learning counseling—to enhance self-directed learning capabilities, and professors are integrating AI into educational activities such as creating lecture materials and designing assessment items. Staff are also using AI to streamline repetitive administrative tasks such as document drafting, meeting minutes organization, and the preparation of various notices.

The university said it is focusing on creating an environment in which all members—students, professors, staff, and teaching assistants—can use AI routinely. In particular, it plans to continue expanding the policy supporting “AI Basic Rights” by providing individual usage credits so that anyone can utilize AI.

President Yang O-bong said Based on the high satisfaction and demand for use confirmed through the pilot program, we have moved forward with the full program and added We will continue to expand AI utilization across education, research, and administration to build a campus where AI use is part of everyday life.
