Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) University Museum (Director Park Yong-jin) will offer a humanities creative experience for local elementary students titled 'Open Pungnammun and Enter Jeonju Fortress!' from May 8 to July 8.

This program was prepared as part of a national university development initiative to achieve the specific objective of 'contributing to the local community and systematically cultivating future talent based on regional cooperation.'

The program is an experiential education course centered on the Jeonju-bu map, an artifact in the museum's collection. It is designed to help participants understand the history and spatial structure of Jeonju and to learn in connection with the elementary school curriculum.

Participants will examine the key spaces of Jeonju Fortress and the historical significance of Pungnammun. Through map-reading and spatial-understanding activities, they will deepen their understanding of local cultural heritage.

In particular, the program goes beyond simple exhibition viewing. It will be conducted as a participatory class that combines video-based learning and museum activities, and is expected to enhance both students' interest and learning effectiveness.

Park Yong-jin, Director of the JBNU University Museum, said, 'This program was planned to allow future generations to naturally understand the region's history and values by utilizing local cultural heritage,' and added, 'We will continue to provide students with diverse humanities experiences based on cooperation with the local community and contribute to nurturing future talent with creative thinking.'
