Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) conducted a comprehensive inspection for illegal filming cameras in the restrooms of campus buildings ahead of the Geonji Daedongje, which will be held for three days starting on the 6th.
The inspection was carried out proactively to address the potential for crime due to increased external visitors during the festival and to create an environment in which students and local residents can use campus facilities with confidence.
The inspection was conducted by S-1, which handles JBNU's integrated security, deploying specialized equipment and personnel to conduct a detailed check for the presence of illegal filming devices in restrooms.
Inspections focused on about 70 campus buildings, particularly those with high student usage or where external access was expected. The inspections confirmed that no suspicious illegal filming devices were found.
JBNU said it will continue regular inspections and pursue multifaceted prevention measures, including gradually expanding the permanent illegal-filming detection system installed in the Central Library and strengthening the reporting system.
President Yang O-bong said, 'We are taking thorough preventive measures so that students and all visitors can enjoy the festival with peace of mind,' adding, 'We will continue to make sustained efforts to create a safe campus environment.'
