Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Nursing (Dean Kim Hye-young) announced on April 4 that it has partnered with the JBNU RISE Project Group and the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province to advance Jeonbuk-style integrated care workforce development.
This agreement was established to strengthen the integrated care competencies of visiting nurses in Jeonbuk and to build an integrated care model that supports the community reintegration of discharged patients, thereby contributing to the health promotion and improved quality of life of provincial residents.
Under the agreement, the participating institutions will: ▲ operate training programs to strengthen integrated care competencies for Jeonbuk integrated care health and nursing personnel; ▲ link programs to cultivate nursing professionals for the integrated care of discharged patients; ▲ develop curricula and exchange information to train specialized integrated care personnel; ▲ and cooperate on other matters necessary to achieve the agreement's objectives.
The JBNU College of Nursing will use this agreement as an opportunity to establish a practice-oriented education system that can be immediately applied in integrated care settings. It plans to systematically advance a Jeonbuk-style health and nursing workforce education model that reflects the characteristics of an aging society and rural areas.
Kim Hye-young, Dean of the JBNU College of Nursing, said, 'It is meaningful that the university will serve as a hub for cultivating integrated care specialists in partnership with the local community. Through this agreement, we expect the integrated care and clinical decision-making competencies of health and nursing personnel to be strengthened and for a Jeonbuk-style integrated care model that supports discharged patients' return to the community to become firmly established.'
Lee Young-ran, Director of the Aging-Friendly Policy Division, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, said, 'We expect that through this cooperation, health and nursing personnel in integrated care settings will be able to carry out on-site, professional, and safe care and treatment. We will continue to provide administrative support so that residents can receive high-quality care and health services with confidence.'
