Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has received an 'Excellent (A)' rating in the 2025 annual evaluation of the Entrepreneurship-Centered University program implemented by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Startup Promotion Agency, once again demonstrating its outstanding entrepreneurship support capabilities. 

This evaluation comprehensively reviewed project implementation performance, outcomes, and operational systems across nine Entrepreneurship-Centered Universities nationwide, and JBNU was selected for the Excellent rating in recognition of its strong achievements across various areas of entrepreneurship support in the Honam region.

Since JBNU was selected in 2022 as the Honam-region Entrepreneurship-Centered University covering Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Jeju, the Start-up Support Group(Director Guk Gyeong-su) has been implementing the program for four years, establishing a full-cycle support system from identifying startup ideas to global expansion. Receiving the Excellent rating for the second consecutive year following last year demonstrates that JBNU is performing excellently as a regional hub for startup incubation.

2025 annual evaluation saw JBNU receive high scores for ▲ excellent collaborative networks with affiliated organizations ▲ fulfilling the role of spreading a region-tailored entrepreneurial culture ▲ policies to nurture startup companies in key industries ▲ and efforts to develop global sales channels and secure investment.
 

Director Guk Gyeong-su of the Start-up Support Group said, “The JBNU Start-up Support Group has built a sustainable entrepreneurship support model based on cooperation with affiliated organizations” and “through the operation of the Entrepreneurship-Centered University program, we will actively support the scale-up of regional startup companies with advanced programs such as investment linkage and entry into global markets” he stated.

President Yang O-bong emphasized, “The receipt of the Excellent (A) rating in this annual evaluation is external recognition of our university's entrepreneurship support capabilities and our collaborative achievements with the local community” and added, “we will continue to fulfill our role as a leading university that guides the regional and national entrepreneurial ecosystem”.
