JBNU has been selected for the 'Advanced Field AI Product Application Technology Professional Training Project' administered by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT).

The project aims to train master's and doctoral-level professionals with AI-convergent product and application technology competencies required in advanced industries. Through collaboration between universities and industry, it seeks to cultivate practice-oriented talent in the industrial fields of AI Mechano‑Bio, AI Robotics, and AI Display.

The project will be implemented as a consortium led by the Korea AI and Robot Industry Association as the lead research and development institution, with JBNU (AI Mechano‑Bio), Kyung Hee University, Sungkyunkwan University, Soongsil University, and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) participating as co-research and development institutions.

With government funding of KRW 3 billion as of 2026, the project will be carried out over five years and will operate AI-convergence education and industry–university collaboration programs focused on AI humanoid robots, display, and mechano‑bio health sectors.

JBNU will be responsible for the AI Mechano‑Bio specialization, focusing on running related curricula and an industry–university collaboration IC PBL program linked with relevant companies and the Interventional Mechano‑Bio Technology Convergence Research Center.

In particular, it will develop professionals equipped to respond to industrial site needs and establish a virtuous cycle between education and employment through employment linkage programs.

Project Director Professor Lee Min-ho (College of Dentistry) stated, "We will train practice-oriented AI-convergence professionals based on industry–university collaboration and contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the regional AI mechano‑bio health medical device industry."
