Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), which operates the Environmental Health Center of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province (Director Kim Yong-hyun), held the launch ceremony for the 2nd Environmental Health Supporters, who will lead community environmental health communication, on the 10th.

The 2nd cohort consists of 12 members in total, including students from major local universities such as JBNU, Jeonju University, and Wonkwang University, as well as young people interested in environmental health. They will serve as an active communication channel, planning and delivering environmental health information needed by provincial residents.

At the launch ceremony attended by Director Kim Yong-hyun, an orientation and activity briefing were held. After the presentation of appointment letters, the supporters' roles and future activity plans were shared.

Based on their academic knowledge and creative ideas, the supporters will plan and produce environmental health card-news and disseminate content analyzing major environmental issues through social media (SNS). Through this, they aim to help residents better understand environmental hazards and apply this knowledge to daily health management.

They will also participate in educational programs, seminars, and forums organized by the center to support operations and gain field experience. They are expected to propose improvements to environmental health policies and programs based on opinions gathered during their activities.

Director Kim Yong-hyun said, "We expect that content reflecting the perspectives of young people will play a practical role in raising awareness of environmental health."

Meanwhile, the Environmental Health Center of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is an institution designated by the Ministry of Climate, Environment and Energy and Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and it carries out various National R&D Programs, such as environmental health monitoring and disease prevention management, to promote residents' health.
