Kim Hyeong-nyeon, director of Incheon Central Animal Hospital and an alumnus of Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Veterinary Medicine, visited his alma mater again this year and donated KRW 10 million, keeping his 24-year promise of giving.

His donations, which began in 2003 with his pledge to 'return the kindness I received during university to my juniors,' have reached their 24th year this year, and the cumulative donation amount has reached KRW 442 million. His individual goodwill and conviction demonstrate how deeply and solidly value can accumulate over a long period of time.

On the 6th, JBNU invited Director Kim and held a development fund donation ceremony. His long-standing practice is regarded as a model of virtuous circulation that goes beyond a simple donation and serves as seed money for the growth of the university and its students.

Director Kim said, 'Delivering donations every year and cheering for the bright future of younger students has become the greatest joy and reward of my life,' and added, 'I hope this small support helps students who are devoted to their studies despite difficult circumstances to pursue their dreams without financial burden.'

He continued, 'For companies or individuals to grow, the roots—the local community and the alma mater—must be strong,' and 'I hope the seeds of giving I planted will continue through the 'Kim Hyeong-nyeon Scholarship,' producing excellent veterinarians who in turn enrich the local community, establishing a tradition of virtuous circulation.'

President Yang O-bong presented a plaque of appreciation and said, 'We extend our deep respect and gratitude to Director Kim Hyeong-nyeon for accompanying his alma mater with unwavering dedication for 24 years. The generous fund will be meaningfully used to nurture world-class veterinary talent and to innovate the educational environment in accordance with his intentions.'

Director Kim graduated from Jeonju Haeseong High School and the JBNU Department of Veterinary Medicine. Since 1983, he has operated the Central Animal Hospital in Incheon, contributing to the development of regional medical services. He has also served actively as a community leader, including as chairman of the Incheon district of the Republic of Korea ROTC and as president of the Incheon Metropolitan City Veterans Association.

Within JBNU's alumni community, he is deeply respected as 'the person who has practiced giving most steadily for the longest time.' To honor his wishes, the university has named and operates a lecture room within the College of Veterinary Medicine as 'Kim Hyeong-nyeon Hall.' His name continues to resonate quietly with younger generations today.
