Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Semiconductor Specialization Project Group operated a hands-on employment camp for enrolled students to strengthen their job readiness in the semiconductor sector.
The Project Group announced that it held the 'Practical Employment Camp' on the 3rd and 4th at the Gochang Welpark Hotel. Approximately 30 students preparing for careers in the semiconductor and related industries participated in the camp.
The program was designed not merely to provide employment information but to offer practice-centered training that reflects real hiring environments. In particular, current industry professionals in the semiconductor field participated and communicated directly with students, providing practical advice on job roles and employment preparation.
On the first day, activities began with an orientation and team projects, followed by a talk concert and networking sessions. The talk concert featured case-focused discussions on the job-search process, criteria for choosing a role, and field experiences. Accounts of failures and candid advice drew positive responses from students. During the subsequent networking time, students had an opportunity to deepen their understanding of job roles and clarify their career directions through open Q&A.
On the second day, the camp's core program — mock interviews — took place. The mock interviews were conducted in a panel interview format with multiple current industry professionals participating. Students experienced an environment similar to actual corporate interviews in team units. In-depth questioning and immediate feedback were provided, offering tangible assistance in improving interview response skills.
Participating students said, “It was very helpful to gain experience in an interview environment similar to the real thing,” and “The candid feedback from working professionals allowed us to clearly identify our weaknesses.”
Kim Jin-su, Director of the JBNU Semiconductor Specialization Project Group, said, “This camp is a practical program designed to allow students to experience the competencies required in actual hiring processes,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen employment competitiveness through field-centered education linked with industry.”
The JBNU Semiconductor Specialization Project Group operates various industry–university collaboration programs to cultivate professionals who meet the demands of the semiconductor industry, and this employment camp was carried out as part of efforts to expand practice-oriented education.
