Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Holds Meeting with Outstanding Researchers in Research and Industry–University Collaboration

JBNU organized a meeting to recognize outstanding researchers who led research and industry–university collaboration achievements and to explore the university's research innovation directions.

 

JBNU announced on the 1st that it held the “2025 Meeting of Outstanding Researchers in Research and Industry–University Activities.” The event was organized to commend researchers who contributed to the university's development through industry–university collaboration research and to collect opinions for the university's transition to a research innovation hub university linked to regional, industrial, and national development strategies.

 

Attendees included outstanding researchers such as Professor Won-il Kim of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, who was selected in 2025 in the category for indirect-cost contribution from off-campus research projects, and Professor Chang-woo Nam of the Department of Organic Materials and Textile Engineering, College of Engineering, who was selected in the Technology Transfer Outstanding Researcher category. President Yang O-bong and Son Jeong-min, Vice-President of Industry-University Cooperation, also attended to share the university's research and industry–university collaboration achievements.

 

At the event, President Yang presented plaques of appreciation to the outstanding researchers, then exchanged views with them on challenges faced in the field and directions for institutional improvements. He also presented the university's vision for the successful implementation of key national strategic projects, including the Glocal University project, the RISE project, and the Physical AI project.

 

President Yang O-bong said, “This meeting was a meaningful occasion to encourage the researchers leading the university's future and to share research and industry–university collaboration achievements,” adding, “JBNU will do its utmost to become a research innovation hub university where research outcomes translate into regional, industrial, and national development, based on excellent research infrastructure and support systems.”
