Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Nursing (Dean Kim Hye-young) and JBNU Health Services (Director Park Jong-seok) have signed an agreement to operate community clinical practicums for nursing students.
Under the agreement, third-year students in the College of Nursing will undertake clinical practicums at the on-campus Health Services as part of the course 'Community Health Nursing Practicum 1'.
Students will gain direct experience in on-campus health care settings and perform various community nursing tasks, including health management, prevention-focused nursing activities, counseling, and health education. This is expected to strengthen field-based practical competencies beyond theory-centered education.
Dean Kim Hye-young said, 'This agreement will provide students with a meaningful opportunity to experience actual community nursing settings,' and added, 'We will continue to expand practice-oriented education.'
Director Gam Jong-seok said, 'We regard it as meaningful that the Health Services is participating as an educational partner,' and added, 'We will actively support efforts to contribute to improving the health of university members and enhancing students' practical competencies.'
Under the agreement, the College of Nursing will expand practice-oriented education to strengthen the foundation for training professional nurses with practical competencies, and the Health Services will fulfill its role in promoting the health of the university community and serving as an educational partner.
The two institutions plan to use this agreement as an opportunity to improve the quality of on-campus health care services and to continuously build a collaborative model that links education and practice.
