Professor Kim Su-jeong Assumes Office as 22nd President of the Korean Society for Information Management

Professor Kim Su-jeong (Department of Library & Information Science, College of Humanities) has assumed office as the 22nd President of the Korean Society for Information Management. Her term is two years, through December 2027.

Founded in 1984, the Korean Society for Information Management is an academic organization dedicated to advancing the discipline of library and information science, strengthening ties with related domestic and international societies, and promoting cooperation among its members. The society continues active scholarly activities, including regular academic conferences and workshops and the publication of its journal.

In her inaugural remarks, the new President Kim said, 'Since its founding, the Korean Society for Information Management has played an important role connecting academia and practice on an academic foundation that links people, information, and technology.' She added, 'Amid recent trends in which, beyond digital transformation, AI-based modes of knowledge production and distribution are being fundamentally reorganized, our society will more clearly recognize the academic value and social responsibility of library and information science and work to strengthen both scholarly excellence and community.'
