Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Department of Dance student Duhwa Hong has been selected for the National Contemporary Dance Company's '3rd Young Dancer Education Cohort' and is preparing to advance as a professional dancer.

The National Contemporary Dance Company's Young Dancer Education program is a practice-oriented professional training program designed to cultivate the next generation of dance artists. Aimed at young dancers, the selected members participate in diverse creative processes over approximately ten months, including workshops led by domestic and international choreographers and movement specialists.

The program focuses on elevating artistic capabilities beyond mere technical training. In addition to completing the curriculum, members are directly involved in the creation of new works by guest choreographers and in actual performances, gaining experience of on-site professional practice and production environments within a professional dance company.

Duhwa Hong said, 'I will use this opportunity to deeply explore various movement methodologies and creative processes and to practically expand my artistic capabilities and perspective as a professional dancer.'

Na-hyun Lee, Chair of the Department of Dance at JBNU, explained, 'Practical, work-linked experience with a leading national contemporary dance company will be a key asset in enhancing aspiring artists' practical field awareness,' adding, 'We plan to continuously strengthen effective education and a multifaceted support system so that our students can establish themselves in professional artistic environments.'
