JBNU produced a record 220 successful candidates (184 for public schools, 36 for private schools) in the 2026 secondary school teacher certification examination, reaffirming its status as the leading teacher-education institution in the Jeonbuk region.

This represents an increase of 24 from the previous year, and the total number of passers is expected to rise further if additional successful candidates from private schools—whose pass status can be difficult to confirm—are identified.

The outcome is attributed to the College of Education's systematic teacher preparation programs and practice-focused guidance systems.

In addition to the formal curriculum, the university operates major-specific, tailored seminars for exam preparation and runs a multifaceted practical support system, including individual consulting and intensive mock interviews to enhance pre-service teachers' classroom competencies.

The curriculum, which focuses on cultivating not only discipline-specific knowledge but also the teaching methods and professional skills required in real educational settings, has led to excellent results in the secondary teacher certification examination each year.

Dean Son Hong-chan of the College of Education said, "The reason JBNU has maintained a top-level nationwide pass rate in the secondary teacher certification examination each year is the synergy between students' relentless efforts and the professors' passion," and added, "We will continue to concentrate the institution's capabilities on producing professional educators who can lead change in public education and contribute to the advancement of national education."
