Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Alumni Association (Chairman Choi Byung-seon) announced on March 4 that, on March 3, it joined forces with the 'Jeonsim' JBNU Student Council to hold a '1,000-Won Store' event to mark the new semester.

The event, held at the bulletin promenade by JBNU's Old Main Gate under the name 'Great-Value Project,' was organized to cheer on students returning for the new term and to provide practical assistance. Even before the event began, many students lined up, and on-site enthusiasm and response were strong.

To support the event, the Jeonbuk National University Alumni Association fully funded the budget as an expression of alumni's warm support. Bundles, thoughtfully assembled with food items such as cup noodles, ready-to-eat rice, spicy canned tuna, roasted laver, and barley tea, along with daily necessities such as toothbrush sets and pens, were sold at the symbolic price of 1,000 won. The 300 prepared bundles were sold out in an instant amid active student participation.

Notably, the event went beyond simple student welfare; it was conducted as a charity event in which all proceeds were donated to the Jeonju Regional Children's Center, adding greater significance. The strong support from alumni and the voluntary participation of students combined to spread positive influence on and off campus.

Chairman Choi Byung-seon, who visited the site and handed items to students in person, said, 'I sincerely support the energetic steps of students beginning the new semester,' and encouraged, 'The Alumni Association will continue to be a steadfast partner to current students and will spare no effort in supporting the alma mater's development and student assistance.'

Ryu Ino, President of the JBNU Student Council, responded, 'We deeply appreciate the Alumni Association's special support, and the student self-governance body will also maintain close communication with alumni to create an even warmer and more vibrant campus.'

The '1,000-Won Store – Great-Value Project' was a meaningful occasion reaffirming JBNU's distinctive value of mutual growth rooted in strong senior–junior solidarity. The Jeonbuk National University Alumni Association plans to continue various support programs for current students and ongoing community service activities.
