Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) is teaming up with Tomato System Co., Ltd. (CEO Jo Gil-ju) to accelerate the advancement of university information systems and the transition to an AI Campus.
JBNU announced on the 10th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) titled "AI- and Data-Based University Information System Innovation" at JBNU's Seoul Office, with President Yang O-bong, Jo Gil-ju, CEO of Tomato System Co., Ltd., and other senior officials in attendance.
This agreement was established to combine the technical capabilities and know-how of both organizations in the field of university information system development to create a future-oriented university model in the AI+X era.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate across a wide range of areas, including ▲sharing technology and operational experience of university information systems; ▲joint planning for next-generation digital transformation; ▲AI- and data-based university administrative innovation; and ▲identifying education, research, and demonstration projects.
In particular, beyond merely building systems, the two parties plan to jointly develop a "standardized university informatization model"—combining JBNU's administrative know-how with Tomato System's technical expertise—that can be distributed and sold to domestic and international universities, and to expand this into overseas markets.
President Yang O-bong of JBNU said, "The advancement of university information systems is an essential task for the qualitative leap in education, research, and administration," adding, "Through this agreement, we will elevate our university's digital transformation capabilities to the next level and present a new standard as a future university leading the AI era."
Jo Gil-ju, CEO of Tomato System Co., Ltd., said, "We are honored to cooperate with JBNU in the field of university information system development," adding, "Drawing on our AI- and data-based solutions and experience in university projects, we will create a leading informatization success case with global competitiveness beyond the domestic market."
Meanwhile, JBNU plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to accelerate the construction of an AI Campus, to fully pursue data-centered administrative innovation, and to further strengthen its status as a flagship national university.
