Graduate students from the Radiation Safety Engineering Laboratory, Department of Applied Plasma Engineering, Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), demonstrated their research capabilities by winning multiple awards simultaneously at major domestic academic conferences.

PhD student 심하영 (supervisor 서희) recently received the 10th ISORD Award at the annual meeting of the Korean Association for Radiation Protection held in Jeju. In addition, lab members 신지민 (integrated master’s–doctoral program) and 방예진 (PhD program) received the 4th Radiation Protection Future Talent Award, and 신선이 (integrated master’s–doctoral program) received the 4th IRPA Awards.

These awards once again confirmed the outstanding research achievements and academic competitiveness of JBNU’s Radiation Safety Engineering Laboratory, as multiple graduate students from the same laboratory received major awards in a single society.

The ISORD Award received by 심하영 is presented to researchers who, over the past two years, have published multiple SCI papers in the fields of radiation protection and related research and have contributed to the development of the society's journal. 심하영 said, "I will continue to dedicate myself to research so that I can contribute to the fields of radiation protection and measurement."

신지민 and 방예진, recipients of the Radiation Protection Future Talent Award, were recognized for their contributions to the advancement of radiation protection through participation and paper presentations at domestic and international conferences and workshops over the past two years. 신지민 said, "I am grateful to the professors and lab members who helped me in my research, and I will continue to do my best for the development of the radiation protection field." 방예진 also stated, "I will conduct my research more diligently to live up to the name 'future talent.'"

In addition, 신선이 was selected from student members who have been active in the radiation protection field for two years or less as an outstanding student in research activity and scholarly contribution and received the IRPA Awards. 신선이 said, "Thanks to the encouragement of my supervisor and lab members, I was able to receive this meaningful award, and I will continue to contribute to academic advancement through substantive research."
