Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Professor Seo Hee (College of Engineering, Department of Quantum System Engineering) received the Prime Minister's Commendation at the recently held '15th Nuclear Safety and Promotion Day' event.

The 'Nuclear Safety and Promotion Day' event, established as a statutory commemorative day to raise awareness of the importance of nuclear safety and to promote nuclear development, was organized by the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission and jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Professor Seo was recognized for her contributions to a national research and development program involving multiple agencies, including the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. She contributed to securing foundational technologies for nuclear safety regulation and to cultivating specialized talent, which led to her receiving this commendation.

Professor Seo said, "I am honored to receive this award thanks to the encouragement and support of many people," and added, "Together with members of the Radiation Safety Engineering Laboratory, I will work even harder to ensure safety and advance the field of nuclear energy."
