Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Nursing was recognized for its contribution to strengthening student health competencies and establishing a school-based health management system, and received the 2025 Superintendent's Commendation in Student Health Promotion.
This commendation, organized by the Jeollabuk-do Office of Education, JBNU College of Nursing’s Student Health Promotion Education Center (Principal Investigator: Professor Kim Hyun-ok) was recognized for its operational achievements.
The Student Health Promotion Education Center has operated experiential health-promotion programs for students across the province and developed and distributed health-education materials that can be immediately used in school settings.
It has also pursued a range of initiatives covering all aspects of student health, including policy proposals based on analyses of student health conditions, establishment of infectious disease prevention and crisis response systems, and training programs for teachers and parents.
In particular, it received high praise for establishing a health-education model that can be practically applied in school settings rather than providing one-off training, thereby creating a sustainable foundation for student health promotion.
The JBNU College of Nursing Student Health Promotion Education Center, buoyed by this Superintendent's Commendation, plans to continue delivering field-centered health education and systematic support, and will persistently work to promote students' healthy development and to create a safe school environment.
