The Department of Housing Environmental Design (Head Jang Mi-seon) held the '2025 Performance Sharing Meeting' on December 18 and shared the educational and research outcomes in the field of spatial welfare pursued over the year. Approximately 50 works were exhibited at the meeting, and outstanding pieces were selected in the design and research categories.

The Grand Prize went to a case from the senior housing demonstration project that had completed prior move-ins. The top award in the design category was also given to a senior housing improvement case that held its move-in ceremony on December 19, recognizing both the on-site completeness of the demonstration and its educational outcomes. In addition, students proposed various housing-environment improvement ideas to realize local spatial welfare.

Hee-jun Jeong, a third-year student in the Department of Housing Environmental Design who won the Grand Prize, said, 'I have participated in the demonstration project for two years, but this time I focused more on understanding the daily life and feelings of the senior residents than on the design results. Before the move-in ceremony, a senior invited me to an end-of-year meal, which moved me deeply. I think this experience will stay with me for a long time as I continue studying my major.'

Jang Mi-seon, Head of the Department of Housing Environmental Design, said, 'This performance-sharing meeting was an occasion to share with the local community the educational and research outcomes that students and faculty have accumulated over the year, including the spatial improvement demonstration projects. More than the completed results, the process by which students met people in the field, understood lives, and grew is most meaningful.' She added, 'We will continue to link demonstration projects and education to carry out spatial welfare practices that genuinely help the local community.'

In his congratulatory remarks, Kang Chun-won, Dean of the College of Human Ecology, said, 'This project is the Department of Housing Environmental Design's practical education and research achievement focused on the daily lives of older adults,' adding, 'It is significant because the university's expertise has led to tangible changes in the local community.'
