Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Startup Support Group (Director Professor Guk Gyeong-su) hosted the 'Honam Business Renewal Camp' from December 18 to 19 as a one-night, two-day program to strengthen the capabilities of start-ups facing difficulties in the early stages and to support the refinement of their business items.
The camp targeted 45 (pre-)entrepreneurs within seven years of founding. It focused on helping founders who possess patents and technical know-how but face challenges in the commercialization process to develop their ideas into concrete business items.
The program comprised a professional lecture on business plan preparation strategies for company growth; one-on-one mentoring centered on business model validation to assess item competitiveness and commercialization potential; and customized one-on-one consulting for drafting and refining business plans.
The program was designed to enable (pre-)entrepreneurs, who struggle with the gap between theory and practice, to strengthen their practical business preparation capabilities.
In particular, the camp went beyond simple theoretical training and was conducted in an intensive mentoring format focused on each participant's individual business item. This approach enhanced the completeness of business plans and added significance as an evidence-based start-up support program that seeks to pursue linkage to government-led commercialization support and the potential to attract investment.
Guk Gyeong-su, Director of the JBNU Startup Support Group, said, 'This camp aims to help (pre-)entrepreneurs facing difficulties in the early stages of commercialization to review their ideas and systematically organize their business plans. We will continue to operate tailored support programs that meet the needs at each growth stage of regional entrepreneurs.'
