Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Law School alumni donated KRW 33.4 million to support the development of their alma mater and the growth of junior students.

Eom Tae-seop, President of the Law School Alumni Association (Representative Attorney, Okims Law Firm), and 25 other Law School alumni, a total of 26, visited the alma mater on December 15 to hold a ceremony to present the development fund. President Yang O-bong presented a plaque of appreciation that day and expressed gratitude for the donation.

This donation was raised at the "Homecoming Day" organized primarily by the Law School's 2nd graduating class in 2025. As the graduating cohort marked its 10th anniversary, a tradition of trust is taking root, with each graduating class visiting the alma mater annually and continuing the practice of giving. Beginning with the donation from the 1st graduating class last year, the participation of the 2nd graduating class this year is spreading as a new school culture.

“While preparing for Homecoming Day, a consensus naturally formed to do something meaningful for the alma mater and our juniors,” said Eom, president of the alumni association. “Beyond the size of the donation, I hope the heartfelt sincerity of the seniors is fully conveyed to the school and the juniors.”

He also requested that the funds be used to improve the learning environment for junior students so that they can concentrate fully on their studies.

Eom is a member of JBNU Law School's 2nd graduating class (February 2013). After passing the bar on his second attempt, he built his career at the Seoul Central District Court, the legal team of Dong-A Socio Holdings, Dong-A ST, and as a policy aide in the National Assembly. He currently serves as Representative Attorney at Okims Law Firm and as Vice President of LegalCare Co., Ltd., actively working and serving as a practical role model for juniors.

He added, “The emotional solidarity fostered through the school serves as a safety net that gives alumni a strong sense of belonging and pride. I will continue to be a reliable partner supporting the alma mater and our juniors.”

Jeong Young-sun, Dean of the Law School, said, “We are grateful that Law School alumni have become a solid partner in the development of the alma mater. In keeping with the alumni's intentions, we will actively support our juniors so they can grow into legal professionals with both expertise and character in the best educational environment.”
