Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Natural History Museum (Director Park Jong‑young) is holding a botanical illustration special exhibition with Jeonju citizens, "My Heart in the Wildflowers of Jeonjucheon", through February 6, next year.
The exhibition features finely detailed botanical illustration works by students of the 7th Botanical Illustration Class in 2025, who this summer personally explored Jeonjucheon to collect wildflowers and meticulously depict them.
Despite the hot weather, the students selected wildflowers that held special meaning for them and, stitch by stitch, rendered them, embedding memories and emotions accumulated over the years along Jeonjucheon into their works.
The "Wildflowers of My Life" pieces, which precisely render traces of nature and life on paper, vividly reveal the four seasons of Jeonjucheon and the lives of citizens woven into it.
In addition to works by the 7th class, the exhibition also displays some 20 botanical illustrations completed through the Botanical Illustration Class over the years. The museum expects this to provide citizens with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the beauty and ecological value of the local natural environment.
Park Jong‑young, Director of the JBNU Natural History Museum, said, "The wildflowers of Jeonjucheon are not mere plants but cultural assets that hold citizens' memories and time," and added, "I hope this exhibition becomes a meaningful occasion that connects nature with human life."
