Dr. Jeong Yujeong of Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Nursing (supervisor: Professor No Juhee) received the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2025 Korean Society of Lifestyle Medicine Conference held recently.

Her study, "The Effects of Pregnancy Stress, Uncertainty About Pregnancy Outcomes, and Coping on Quality of Life in High-Risk Pregnant Women," received high praise.

Based on Lazarus & Folkman’s stress-coping theory, the study identified pregnancy stress, uncertainty regarding pregnancy outcomes, and coping strategies, and was praised for scientifically demonstrating how these factors affect quality of life.

The study found that pregnancy stress and uncertainty about pregnancy outcomes negatively affect quality of life, and that more positive coping has a significant positive impact on improving quality of life.

The findings suggest that reducing pregnancy stress, alleviating uncertainty about pregnancy outcomes, and offering positive coping strategies could serve as fundamental data for providing effective nursing interventions to improve the quality of life of high-risk pregnant women.

Dr. Jeong Yujeong stated, "This study is significant in that it presents effective nursing intervention strategies that can improve the quality of life of high-risk pregnant women."

Professor No Juhee, the supervising professor, said, "Because the health of high-risk pregnant women is a very important issue, I hope the research findings will contribute to the development of future health management measures," and added, "We will continue research to promote women's health across the life course."

Meanwhile, the Korean Society of Lifestyle Medicine holds an annual conference aimed at promoting public health and spreading healthy lifestyles, and awards Outstanding Paper Awards to outstanding researchers.
