JBNU Professor Ji-young Kim (Associate Dean, College of Nursing; Department of Nursing) has been inaugurated as the 27th President of the Korean Society of Psychiatric Nursing. Her term is two years.
Founded in 1971, the Korean Society of Psychiatric Nursing is a professional academic society dedicated to advancing psychiatric nursing practice, education, and research. Through hosting academic conferences, publishing journals, holding policy forums, and providing research funding, it has guided the direction of mental health nursing in Korea. The society has established itself as a leading network for professionals in the field.
Professor Kim has long led psychiatric nursing education and research at JBNU's College of Nursing. She has been particularly active in scholarly work on community mental health promotion and disaster nursing. Within the society, she has served as Education Director and Vice President, contributing to organizational management and the advancement of the field.
Newly appointed President Ji-young Kim said, "I will strive to ensure that the Society actively reflects contemporary changes and the needs of practice and grows into a more advanced scholarly community. Based on the achievement of having the society's journal indexed in SCOPUS, I will do my utmost to elevate it to an internationally recognized journal."
